Understanding a Creatype

Read a group portrait without mistaking it for a real person.

A group portrait

A Creatype gathers public profiles whose habits, interests and signals look alike. Its name is a memorable shortcut for that group.

The portrait describes who those people are: what they do, what they like, what they dislike, what they wish for. It does not say what to post for them, that is Finder’s job.

The signals used

  • Public reposts from the profile, which say a lot about what someone follows.
  • Their own public videos, when they have any.
  • Their bio and a few public profile signals.
  • Their comment under the analysed content, when it carries a useful preference.

Using the portrait well

Grouping happens on people, not on reactions: a Creatype is a type of person, not a type of comment. The comment attaches to it as a light shed on your content.

Comparing Creatypes surfaces shared needs and tensions. Several analyses grouped in a Community confirm what is durable.

A Creatype never identifies the people it contains and must not be used to make an individual decision about them.
