Connecting the Creatype MCP

Configure ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Claude Code or another MCP client.

Getting the connector address

  1. 1 Sign in to the Creatype web app.
  2. 2 Open the profile menu, then Settings, then MCP.
  3. 3 For ChatGPT and Claude.ai, copy the remote connector address: https://api.creatype.cc/mcp.
  4. 4 For a local agent, choose Enable MCP instead, which generates the configuration with a personal token.

Connecting ChatGPT

ChatGPT now keeps MCP servers under Plugins, no longer in a “Connectors” settings screen.

  1. 1 Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar, then the “+” button in the top right.
  2. 2 In the “New plugin” window, type a name, for example Creatype, and leave Connection on “Server URL”.
  3. 3 Paste https://api.creatype.cc/mcp into the address field, and leave Authentication on “OAuth”.
  4. 4 Tick “I understand and want to continue”, then confirm with “Create”.
  5. 5 Choose “Sign in with Creatype”, sign in to the account to use, then authorise the connection after checking the permissions requested.
  6. 6 Back in ChatGPT, “Refresh” on the plugin card shows the available tools.

Connecting Claude.ai

Claude.ai connectors left the general settings: they live under Customize.

  1. 1 Open Customize, then Connectors, in Claude.ai.
  2. 2 Open the “Add” menu in the top right, then “Add custom connector”.
  3. 3 Type a name, paste https://api.creatype.cc/mcp into “Remote MCP server URL”, then confirm with “Add”. Advanced OAuth fields stay empty.
  4. 4 Sign in to Creatype in the window that opens.
  5. 5 Authorise the connection after checking the account and the permissions requested.

Connecting Claude Code or a local agent

Under Settings, then MCP, Enable MCP shows the full configuration, to be copied straight away and pasted into the MCP configuration file of the compatible client.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "creatype": {
      "url": "https://api.creatype.cc/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <token_shown_once>"
      }
    }
  }
}

The full token is shown only at creation. Never share it. If it is lost or exposed, revoke the access then enable a new one.

Reviewing and revoking connections

Settings, then MCP, lists the authorised ChatGPT and Claude connections, their last use and the active local token. A web integration can be disconnected separately from the local token, which can be revoked entirely.

A revocation takes effect immediately. It deletes neither the account nor the analyses already created.
